June 7, 2008 – 3:49 amThe Space Terrace is a famous place to spend your Sunday afternoons on the island. Space is in Playa den Bossa it’s open six days a week, [closed mondays] between May and early October.
Space first opened in 1989, it used to be a conference hall. When it started providing entertainment it wasn’t a dance club but instead it put on live bands and Flamenco shows.In 1991 Alex P, who was working at the club, came up with the idea to put a set of decks behind the bar outside and play to the people enjoying a quiet drink on the chill-out terrace. Two years he was joined by Brandon Block and the Space Terrace was born!
Almost every top DJ has passed through Space’s doors it one of the worlds premier clubs.
The best House and Progressive DJ’s can be seen each and every Sunday for the clubs flahship event - “We Love Sundays” It’s on every Sunday throughout the season from 8am Sunday to 6am Monday morning.
The capacity of the venue is around 5-6k.
The music at Space is predominantly House.
You’ll need a fair bit of cash to go to Space. Expect to pay in the region of 35-40 for Sunday. Drinks aren’t cheap either and you’re only allowed one pass out.
Even if House music is not your thing Space is still well worth a visit. The club attracts people from all over the world and has a real continental vibe. The atmosphere is always amazing.
