Music and kids go together
It’s a question that a lot of us ask when we start having kids on our own. What kind of music should my kid listen to. I mean it’s only natural as when we have kids, we want to give them the best and be their to give them full support – it’s only human nature. However, don’t get to protective and ruin your child’s chances at greatness. Greatness doesn’t mean music sales, it means how developed your kid is as a human being through music.
If you study history and the role music has played in each culture, it’s phenomenal. Although critics say that music is just a pastime, I think it is a very big part of our development especially in the early stages as a kid. Music helps you understand emotion and emotion is power that can be transmuted through physical actions.
A kid’s brain is like a field where no matter what seeds you plow, they are going to grow into giant trees of information. Scientists have said that when a child is born, their mind is already ready for whatever information you can throw at them. Yes their brains are like a powerful computer that is just ready for all the information you can throw at them and as fast as you can.
Same thing with music or anything else for that matter. If you play rap music, the kid is going to pick up more on rap music. Although later in life the kid when he or she is no longer a kid can make a decision on it’s own but initially it’s you who controls what your kid is listening to. Use proper discretion when it comes to controlling what kind of music your kid wants to listen to or not. The best discretion is just let your kid be and let them explore for themselves.
Just because you want your kid to be smart, don’t throw them into some fancy music lesson classes. If they don’t like it, you’ll only create unnecessary conflict and not to mention the harm you’ll do to your kid’s self esteem. A kid with good healthy self esteem is more happy and that is what it’s all about. Being happy, healthy and growing as a person.
