How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks Quickly and Easily
March 30, 2008 – 9:55 amHiding stretch marks is a popular thing nowadays. No one wants to be seen with the red or purple lines that cry out “I have stretch marks!” Swimwear, lingerie, and anything even close to transparent goes in the trash as soon as stretch marks pop up. However, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world for stretch mark sufferers…it just takes an understanding that though they won’t disappear before your very eyes, they can be effectively reduced to a level where they might as well be invisible.
It is a known fact that the most pleasurable pastimes bring stretch marks, eating, pregnancy, and bodybuilding; so there are bound to be repercussions if it means enjoying yourself! Seriously though, if you can manage to keep your skin supple with a combination of healthy eating and drinking, then you’re already halfway to hiding stretch marks anyway - by eliminating them. Our skin needs to be as toxin free as possible to retain and increase its elasticity, and it is when this elasticity breaks down we get stretch marks - so it’s logical to assume if we can help it become stronger and more flexible, then we can help our stretch marks go away, or at least minimize them .
There are a few household items that can help fight the war against stretch marks. I’m sure you’ve heard of a lot of them, but let me run down the list just in case. Egg whites, jojoba, olive oil, shea butter, vitamin E creams, and cocoa butter are just a few of the recipes I’ve been given throughout the years. Applying these “remedies” may or may not work, but to up your chances of success try these simple tips: Use these creams and oils right after you get out of the shower or bath…your body will absorb more of the cream and give you a better chance of fighting those stretch marks. Depending on the severity of your stretch marks, I’d recommend doing this once or twice a day.
A very common and probably the most used method of hiding stretch marks, is to apply sunless tanning products to the marks you need to hide. Yes, you read right, and it does work as a temporary solution. Tanning naturally just will not do it, stretch marks tend to evade the sun’s positive effects, and the marks stand out even more! Face powder and foundation is another useful concealing method a lot of women use to try and combat stretch marks temporarily. Anything which contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) is a good product to use on stretch marks while you fight the battle to hide them, AHA’s very gently strip the top layer of skin cells allowing new ones to come to the surface - the chances are, if you’re eating healthily and applying a good cream to increase the elasticity that a few layers down the good skin is going to arise and be victorious.
