Is Drinking Coffee Really that Bad for you?

Yet it seems like we are constantly bombarded with information that tells us drinking coffee is bad for you. Owners of coffee shops need not worry though. We all have our habits and lucky for you drinking coffee is one of them for many individuals out there.
Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. It stands to reason that people need to take action to reduce their chances of it occurring. It is scary when you read that drinking coffee may be a factor in causing it then. Yet there are simply too many other factors that have to be considered as well. Drinking coffee can’t alone be held accountable for it.
High cholesterol has been reported in many articles as being the result of people drinking decaffeinated coffee. Here they were thinking they were taking steps to help themselves and it backfired. These types of reports are scary but when you start to look past the headline you will find many of them don’t hold much weight as far are being credible.
Then there is the issue of coffee being linked to causing people to gain weight. This one is true on many levels. Too many people fail to see how many empty calories they consume in the form of drinks on a daily basis. It isn’t just coffee though but an assortment of beverages. If you drink your coffee black this isn’t too much of an issue. However, those that fill it full of sweet syrups, creamer, and sugar can find they do put on a few pounds.
Do you drink coffee to get energy? If so then this is something you will likely be criticized for. The experts are always pushing to eat something high in protein, take a brisk walk, or to get more exercise if you need more energy. Anyone working overtime, driving late at night, or studying for hours will attest to the fact that a pot of coffee will do wonders for getting you through it.
There have been plenty of studies done on how coffee affects the body. Yet the results are all across the board. This is a type of drink that is different for each person. The amount the drink, what they drink, and even their body chemistry all affect it. If you don’t feel right after you drink coffee then you should consider stopping. Other than that you should feel you have the right to continue doing so in moderation.
This information is something you should share with your own doctor. Let them know how much coffee you drink. Let them know how you feel when you drink it as well as what your overall level of activity is. Since you should be seeing a doctor you trust you will likely respect their feedback on the issue of drinking coffee.
The verdict is still out as to how bad coffee really is for you. If you consume a couple of cups each day you really have nothing to worry about. Focus more on a healthy lifestyle which will include a balanced diet and exercising for at least 30 minutes each day. Drink plenty of water and work to reduce your level of stress. Then you can enjoy your coffee and not worry about it too much.
