Are you tired of working for your boss? Do you want to break free? Is it possible to generate a handsome income from the confines of your bedroom? These and many other questions need to be answered. I have hope for you. But first I have to scare you. There are excellent work-from-home programs that will give you the freedom you desire. Several Internet sites offer outstanding ideas for starting a home business. But there are many more that are set up with the sole purpose of stealing your hope and taking your money.

The truth is that thanks to the recent advancements in the field of ‘Electronic commerce’ (read e-commerce) and the Internet, millions of people from different parts of the world are successfully generating a decent amount of money by doing online (and sometimes offline) jobs.

As they say, though, there are two sides to every story. For every person who has been able to succeed in their efforts to work from home there are others who have spent a few thousand dollars and ended up with nothing except frustration and betrayal.

Perform an online search using the keywords ‘work from home’ or ‘online jobs’ and you will would be surprised to see thousands of web sites which make tall claims of helping you generate a six figure income by doing almost ‘nothing’. Are you about to be scammed? That’s the problem. You don’t know who to believe. All those pictures of fast cars, mansions, palm trees, poolsis it real? Or just hype?

Admittedly, it is very difficult to figure out which web sites are genuine and which are not. There are, however a few techniques you can use to pick out the scammers. Bogus companies will lure you by making web sites carrying photos of air-planes, luxury cars and homes. Look for \”production\” value in these pictures. If it looks like a snapshot, it might actually be legit. If it looks professional, with all the right lighting and beautiful people, they bought the picture (or found it somewhere on the Internet)

Also watch out for ridiculous claims. It’s very unlikely that you will make millions of dollars in the first year of your online business. Real companies won’t make these claims. Look at the company’s track record in industry watchdog organizations, and visit online forums to see how other people have fared and what genuine jobs they recommend.

There are many legitimate home business reviews on the Internet. Review them before you spend any money. It’s too easy to fall prey to bogus companies with dodgy businesses.

Before spending a single dollar, do your research. Most of the fraudulent companies require a one-time membership (sometimes ongoing) of around $100 or more. It’s possible some of these are real businesses which do provide you with real work and reasonable incomes. But many are not, so beware. It’s not just the subscription money you risk, either - you will waste your time, which in the end is far more valuable. Finally, realize that scammers will continue to ask for more money once they get their hooks into you.
