The Advantages of Real Time Vehicle Tracking

Real time tracking is one of the best ways to keep your vehicle protected from thieves and criminals. Tracking vehicles in real time works by sending information from the transmitter to the receiver every second. This allows you to monitor where your vehicle is any time you want, without the unnecessary lag.

The Global Positioning System or GPS is the most common method used to track vehicles in real time. A GPS has 24 artificial satellites that orbit the planet and continuously scan different its areas to get an accurate reading of a particular object’s location. Once that data is obtained, the satellites transmit the data to a GPS receiver in the form of microwave signals.

Many people believe that a GPS transmitter should have a clear line of sight with the sky to get an acceptable connection and maintain communication with the satellites. However, it is now possible to establish the necessary connection despite a hazy line of sight. This is what makes the GPS satellite system very attractive as a navigating tool, especially for vehicles. GPS can still track your vehicle even if you get trapped in a jungle, or pass through a tunnel.

Another important benefit a GPS has over navigational systems that use low frequencies, is its affiliation with the government. The GPS satellites are entirely maintained by the government. With the government at the helm, the technology is constantly updated without sacrificing any taxpayer money.

Companies that are in the business of GPS vehicle tracking usually have different options on the quality of service you can apply for. You can choose on how often you want the data refreshed. This option can range anywhere from as quick as five seconds, to as sporadic as every two minutes. The idea of real time is that the location of you vehicle is refreshed depending on the interval you prefer. However, the more often you want to track your vehicle, the more expensive it will cost you.
