This camera has been wonderful since I got it. It took me some real long hours researching the details before I found it here. Here is some of the data I found out so maybe it can help the shoppers that are unsure of its stats (I found these on the web):
Resolution: 10 Megapixel
Optical Zoom: 4x
Focal Length: 35mm-140mm
Lens Aperature: F3.5-F4.6
LCD size: 230,000
Onboard Memory: 15MB*
Movie resolution: 640x480 VGA
Battery life: about 225 shots (depends on flash and other uses)
Dimensions: 3.8" X 2.4" X 0.6"
Weight: 126 grams (4.44 oz)
* this will give you about 1 photo at max resolution (maybe 2). Buy a memory stick!
What you find in the box:
* Cyber-shot DSC-T77 camera
* NP-BD1 rechargeable lithium-ion battery
* Battery charger
* Station plate (for the optional camera dock)
* Paint pen
* Wrist strap
* USB + A/V cable
* CD-ROM featuring Cyber-shot software, Cyber-shot Handbook and Step-up Guide
* 55 page basic manual (printed) plus 171 page full manual (on CD-ROM)
Now for the review: Realize that this has a very small lens physically. The amount of light that can come into that lens when shooting is a good deal less than a 35mm DSLR camera. That being said there are those that argue that this is not a "true" 10 megapixel camera. All I can say is that the photos are excellent. You may have to use the flash a bit more than with a standard 35mm camera due to the smaller lens size.
The uploading is very easy. Its a Sony so the included software is very well made. Easy to use and intuitive.
All in all a very nice pocket camera to take everywhere with you on your vacations.
Thank you for reading my review.

I bought this camera for Christmas, but I am just getting around to writing my review now. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone. Rather than repeat what many reviews here already say, I will just highlight some of the pros and cons....
Pros:
- Very small! Easily fits in pocket
- Not slow at all
-Easy to use and figure out
- Works best in bright natural light
Cons:
- Lens is in upper right hand corner (not center) , so if someone not familiar with the camera is taking the pic, you usually get a pic of their finger.
- Proprietary battery and memory stick are a major drawback since you must buy from Sony. Would prefer the more universal SD card.
-Pics not so great in low light
- When you do need the flash it is blinding.
- Slide lens opener is a bit awkward since the camera is small.
Overall all though, I'm just nitpicking. For the most part I love this camera, I just want to help others make an informed decision. |

This camera is an improvement of the T70 which is a great camera,
they made it thinner and lighter it is truely a pocket camera.
With more mega pixels and a 4x zoom this camera is hard to beat. |
I love this camera!

| I bought this camera with the explicit intent of using as a 'pocket' camera - keeping it with me at all times so I could take pictures when I wanted, so I was looking for a fairly automated camera. The auto function is great and the camera sets itself up beautifully to automatically take the perfect picture, yet is easy to set up for yourself. I really like the large touch screen. The only con to this camera so far is that the red eye flash and the regular flash really are blinding as other reviewers have mentioned. Often get odd expressions on people's faces if the red eye flash goes off. I tend to keep this function off and fix the image later. |

| This is my first camera ever. It is actually very simple like any other camera, i guess. The cool features are: The touch screen of course!, also it has a smile detector, which waits until the person is smiling and takes the picture by itself. It also comes with a cable that lets you watch the photos on an HD TV and you can also watch videos, which is so much fun. The pictures come out great an so do the videos. Its a very good camera for first time users i think. It is also very stylish which is always a plus!! Hope this helps! |
One of the best super-compact digital cameras I've ever used
|
| Review Date: February 24, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Dion Hinchcliffe, Washington, DC |
I've had many digital cameras before including a number of cybershots and I'd have to say this is the best point-and-shoot they've made so far; it's that good. In fact, I can usually find a few things I really don't like about most digital cameras that I've used but that's just not the case with this terrific little device. That said, no gadget is 100% perfect and there are a few things I wish were different.
Here's how the Sony DSC-T77 breaks down:
PROS:
- Unbelievable build quality, the T77 has a truly solid metal case all the way around. You won't be breaking this baby any time soon.
- Very small size, is actually much smaller than it looks in the pictures.
- The touch screen works great for navigating and activating features.
- Menu layout has the typical Sony complexity but follows their standard structure. If you know Sony's digital camera menus, you're good here.
- Very bright flash. Incredible flash power especially for the size of the camera.
- Good color saturation and nice widescreen pictures. I keep mine in 16x9 mode and the shots are great, clear, and highly detailed given the 10.1MP, one after the other.
- The smile detection mode is fantastic. You essentially give control over picture taking to the audience once you go into this mode. Smile sensitivity can be adjusted and people are always amazed the camera can sense smiles and take shots automatically.
- In-camera touch-ups are easy as can be, including adding smiles and removing red-eye.
- Rear LCD preview screen is large and roomy, covering the entire rear of the camera.
- Battery life is excellent despite the large rear preview screen, powerful flash, and other battery draining features.
- The T77 has a generous array of accessories available. You can get an underwater camera housing, a variety of good cases, new batteries, extra storage, a digital dock and more.
- Works great with 3rd party PictBridge printers and the T77 printed directly to my Polaroid portable printer with no issues.
- I've had no issues with the zoom control. Some have reported it as being too small but I find that it's just fine and I've never had a problem.
- Auto-orientation is one of the handiest features of this camera. Never have to rotate a picture again after downloading it to your PC or uploading it online. Sony isn't clear on how this is done but it must use a built-in accelerometer since it's pretty much 100% accurate. A big time saver since rotating lots of 10MP photos can really take time and was one of the big pains in picture processing workflow with older digital cameras.
CONS:
- The biggest problem by far is that the camera is so small it makes taking stable shots difficult sometimes. I often find that shake created while pressing the shoot button creates blurry pictures. You do have to *concentrate* not to shake the little T77 as you take pictures.
- The slide down camera cover on the front is hard to slide down sometimes, especially in cold weather. It's not that it sticks, it just requires some serious pressing and pulling. The mechanism seems quite firm and is very rugged feeling so I don't worry about it wearing out due to the repeated stress however.
- The on-screen menu stays on too long after initiating picture playing and I often have people stare quizzically at the screen when I hit the play button and show them the camera. A minor quibble but it comes up all the time.
I can't stress enough how well built this thing is and what a joy it is to use. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat and is one of the best point-and-shoots available today in my opinion. |

I bought the camera a month back. I have taken about 50 pictures so far in both auto and manual modes.
Pros:
The picture quality is very good in both modes.
Touch screen has good resolution (unlike Nikon s60) and is very responsive
Compact size and easy fit into any pocket.
Very light weight.
Smile detection works like a charm.
The same cable provided can be used to download to PC and connect to TV
Cons:
Because of the size, it sometimes slips from your hand when taking photos.
Sony should include a camera cover along with other accessories.
Overall i would rate it 4.5 out of 5. It is the perfect analogy for a compact digital camera!! |
Luv my new camera!

| I read lots of review about this camera before buying it and finally decided to go for it. My objective was to get the slimmest camera with style which I can carry it in my pocket. I was really surprised to see the camera in my hand, it is more than compact and really slim. Menu is not that hard to figure out. I have yet to find the ruggedness of this camera. You have to use the wrist band or else there is a chance you will drop the camera. |

| Takes great pictures for a little compact camera. It even takes good short videos although you have to press a few menu items on the screen to get to that feature. The screen does get the fingerprints but I only really notice them when the camera is off. It's not an issue when reviewing pic's on the screen. You won't be dissappointed. |

| When my sister asked me for this camera for Christmas, I had no idea it was going to be this good. It is about the wide and length of a credit card, yet it can take pictures of amazing quality. Not too long ago you could only get this performance from a professional camera. The size, though, makes it ideal for the party goer or casual photographer. The touch screen is a big plus. My only complains are that the menus and the software do not give all the options one might wish and are not very intuitive. |

Although I've been through plenty of cameras over the years - ranging from 35mm SLR's and APS to digital - I'm far from an expert and more of an intermediate hobbyist. My current need was a digital camera that was small and light (something I could put in my shirt pocket or throw in a briefcase) to document images when the need arose. After much research and review, I finally decided on the Sony DSC-T77 - and it meets my needs spectacularly. Besides making decent photos, it is rather intuitive and easy to use. I was particularly drawn to the bold and beefy lens cover and the fact that the telescoping, although limited in range, is all internal to the camera. Other cameras I compared the Sony to have delicate-looking lens-cover leaves and the telescoping lenses protruded like a bad zit on prom night (both of which would seem more prone to damage and malfunction). The touch screen responds well to my normal fingers.
I've read mixed reviews on this camera - the bad ones seems to want this camera to be more than it is. It is not a DSLR - nor will it ever be. So far, I am delighted with this camera. It is not perfect - but it is perfect for me. |
This is a great camera.

Canon SD750 vs Sony T77-No Comparison
|
| Review Date: February 21, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Dan Eppinger, Danbury, Connecticut |
I purchased the Sony T77, because I saw it at a store and its size and build quality impressed me. The reviews that I had read online also raved about this camera.
They were not wrong. I currently use a Canon SD750 when I am on the go, and a Canon Digital Rebel (1st generation), when I do not mind carrying the heavier gear.
Since purchasing my Sony T77, I have done side by side image comparisons of identical photos. There is no comparison. The T77's colors are more accurate than BOTH the SD750 and the Digital Rebel. In addition, the Sony's images were sharper than either Canon's.
Get one! You will not be disappointed. The diminutive size is only another plus for getting this unit. Its photos are the best that I have seen from a compact digital...Having tried many cases for the camera, I also recommend the Tamrac, Model 5680...It is cheap, well made, protects the camera well, and looks and fits as if it were custom designed for the T77. |

| What an excellent camera... I had previously bought another brand and even though it boasted that it was 8mega pixels.. when it came to taking close up shots it failed miserably... .. I wanted a small camera that could take clean clear crisp close up photos and I am TOTALLY amazed by the quality of the shots I get with the DSC-T77.. Its small size makes it very convenient to carry around and the fact that there are no protruding lenses, there are really no parts to break.. A real "slip in the back pocket" camera....Excellent choice for the price.. REALLY.. you would LOVE this camera!!!!! I do.... |

My last 3 cameras were Sony. My first 2M cybershot (P9) was used hard for more than 4 years. My last one was a W100 and it didn't resist to a minor impact. I decided for this model because of the size and weight, and I was surprised by the nice touchscreen features (I hope it keeps nice after years of use), great resolution, smile detection (that works most of the time) and great memory card management tools (sounds silly, but it is very useful on the field)
I use it for traveling and for urban tours in Brazil, the resolution is great for my purposes. you can check actual pictures Im taking at: (http://photosynth.net/Search.aspx?query=expertour)
I also bought the GPS unit from sony and Im happy with the results.

Wow, all I can say is that I am stunned with how nice it is! Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
-Small design
-Stunning Photos
-Amazing closeups (In close-focus enabled mode)*
-Beautiful colors
-Low digital noise/grain
-Large Screen
Cons-
-You really need to hold the button halfway down to focus, because with the macro mode built in, it's harder to focus
- With the flat lens, tops of fingers get in photos
-It takes awhile to load images if you want to review all the images
I really love this camera though, and it is a good purchase, but expensive. It's a good medium though because it's not a junky camera, but it's not a $1000 camera that needs multiple lenses. |

This is my second digital camera and I've been having so much fun with it for almost five months now that I felt I should 'review' it. It's truly worthy of my 'FIVE STAR' rating.
Unlike most digital cameras, it's actually made IN Japan(except for the lens optics which are sourced from the 'world-class' Zeiss factory) Lots of METAL not plastic, and a build-quality that's top notch. It's really a pocket-sized wonder capable of stunning image quality - I just had a couple of 13.5" x 24.0" custom prints made from a High Defintion 16 x 9 ratio image that's simply stunning. It's hard to believe that it came out of such a small camera(and speaks well for Sony's choice of the Zeiss optics)!
I should mention a couple VERY important things right off. One, it's NOT a 'toy' but rather a very complex and 'precision' instrument. It's delicate and not designed to be dropped, submerged or abused. Use the wrist strap ALWAYS! And the big 3" LCD touch-screen is delicate so keep your right hand thumbnail cut short so you don't 'gouge' the screen when holding the camera. Perhaps a flexible screen protector would help, but I feel it would affect the screen's sensitivity, so I haven't installed one and use Sony's 'paint pen'(the little plastic paddle-thingie that you install on the wrist strap). It only takes a VERY light touch to use it on the screen - don't use it like a ball-point pen on multi-part carbonless paperwork where people are accustomed to 'bearing down' hard to make an impression through all the copies! Easy does it!
And get a really good case to keep it in to give your investment a chance for a long life. I liked the Case Logic UNZB-2, a padded neoprene model with extra padding on one side to give a little extra 'protection' to the big LCD touch screen. I replaced the case's little metal hanging loop with a carabiner(?sp.) clip(available at hardware stores and some sporting goods shops) to allow me to quickly latch the camera case to a belt loop on my jeans so I can always have the camera with me and not miss those wonderful photo 'ops' that always seem to happen when you don't have your camera with you!
Besides buying another Sony #NP-FD1 battery so I always have 'power', I also purchased Sony's #VMC-MHC1 HD Output adapter cable which is NOT the same as the cable that comes with the camera. The difference is the ability to connect to an HDTV's composite video inputs for true HD quality(I only wish Sony made this cable longer than the 1.5 meter length)Hint, hint Sony!
And, of course, buy a quality 'high speed' Memory Stick Pro Duo as the internal 15MB memory won't go far at all(maybe a few HD-size images at the most). A 1 GB for still images, and more if you want to capture motion.
The specs and reviews from many others will tell you the rest so I won't repeat it all. But I will say that I LOVE this camera SO much, I've bought a second one too! |

Got my Sony DSC-T77 here in asia where it's been out for a couple of weeks and would just like to give this little slim point and shoot a thumbs up!
I used to own the Sony DSC-T70 which was an OK camera in my opinion. As an upgrade, the T77 is really a much better camera.
Pros:
-Great image quality in good light. Compared to the T70, the T77 is produces better images in good light. The photos are pin sharp and more noticeable are fine details. When I take portraits with the T77, I now see pores and individual eyelashes!
-Slimmer and lighter than the T70, the T77 really is a pocketable camera that you'd want to take with you all the time. It's so unobtrusive I sometimes forget I have it with me!
-Dynamic Range Optimizer helps recover shadow details without losing highlights.
-A barrage of other features like smile shutter, face detection, anti-blink function, and image stabilization helps make taking pictures more fun.
Cons:
-I wished Sony had separate controls for saturation, sharpness, and contrast like all the Canons have. There are times I want to get more saturated colors. While it does have a vivid setting which boosts up the saturation, it also boosts up the contrast which results in harsh-looking photos (most of the time anyway).
-I think it's safe to say that this camera takes better picture in good light. The quality definitely goes down as the light levels go down. I think the problem with such a small sensor and lens is that in lower light levels, the camera compensates by choosing higher ISOs which results in more noise and more noise reduction which produces photos that are less sharp and less detailed.
All in all, I really like this camera, and at this small/slim size, I think this is as good as it gets. If you're looking for the smallest and slimmest camera that takes quality photos, then give the Sony DSC-T77 a try. |

I recently purchased the Sony T-77 as a quick pocket camera for fun and some work. The camera is pretty easy to use, and the photos are crisp, with no focus issues as with other small cameras such as this one.
I like the size and it fits a niche for me, where my G-9 or other SD camera may be to bulky or cumbersome to bring along.
Battery life time is shorter than my other cameras, but it recharges very quickly. A good buy. |

| Bought the green one for my parents and the pink one for my mother-in-law for Christmas. They seem to be enjoying them very much, though have not quite figured out all the technology. It's sleek and slim - very sexy! And it's touch-screen. I currently have a Powershot and it looks so bulky next to the Cybershot - thinking about replacing mine with one! |

| This camera is a hit. I gave it as a gift to my daughter and she loves it so dearly. What she liked the most are the features in this camera that she'd be able to play around with. You know how teenagers are. Oh dear, she's having fun! Something new for Sony which brings creativity for the user in composing pictures. The resulting images were also superb even in low light conditions. I already purchased another one and gave it to my niece, who was so smitten upon seeing that of my daughter's. Now they both are having fun. |
Great Product

| Shipping was speedy, the product works great! I took soo many pictures already and they all turned out really nice - clear, smooth and my skin looks amazing!! The night shots are really nice too. But I've always liked Sony products so my review may be biased. |
I guess size doesn't matter!!

I recently bought the Sony Cybershot DSC-T77 from Amazon.com. Its the first up-to-date digital camera I've bought in awhile, and I'm happy.
What I liked about it:
-Pictures come in crystal Clear (Hi-Def)
-Alot of different functions/settings
-powerful flash
-Facial recognition/smile
-easy plug in to TV/Computer
-Download your own music to camera for slide show(plays on TV also
-Light weight
-Small enough to fit in any pocket
-Battery life it quit long
-15MB built-in memory for tons of pictures
-3-inch widescreen that also is touchscreen
-The Intelligent Scene Recognition makes it easy on constantly changing settings
-compatible with Memory Stick media
-And much more...
Things I didn't like:
-Battery take quit along time to fully charge
-Screens image quality is kinda fuzzy
-Not bad but not great at night shots
But overall I was pretty happy with my purchase |
Great pictures, but the battery life is horrible

I bought the T77 a few weeks ago. I love how small the camera is (it's a little thicker but not as long as the LG Dare phone). I also like the touch screen. This weekend I took it to a friend's party, took 124 shots (inside and outside at night), the majority of the pictures came out great! There were just a couple with red eye and the battery was almost dead at the end (buy a spare to keep with you) but overall the camera did a great job.
UPDATE: I've had this for 9 months now. A couple of things that are annoying:
I've noticed that when I hand the camera off to someone else to take a picture, a lot of the time that picture turns out blurry OR their finger is in front of the lens. I think the camera is so small that people don't quite know how to hold it.
The battery has also become an big issue. I have two that I'm constantly charging. |

Its a very good camera. Really small and stylish. Touch screen is comfortable to use too. However, there are some white spots found in the picture in certain lighting conditions.
But overall a very good buy and worth the money. |

| Excellent product, good quality and good price. I bought the package of cover + camera + card. Request if very fast. The shipment of cover & camera was more than the cost of each product, but was needed very fast. The camera is excellent, but the other accesories total cost not good. |
Not as good as I had hoped

Small enough to fit in my pocket, however, after 1 week, the screen got a hairline fracture. Even with the pointer pen, screen easily stores fingerprints. Buttons are hard to push with pointer, and navigating is not easy. The flash is VERY Bright (blinding - the kids no longer enjoy having their picture taken), and I have not figured out how to soften it. I have read the manual cover to cover and still have difficults getting the performance I need. First batch of pictures were VERY Grainy (my old Kodak 3.1MP camera took clearer images).
Sony replaced the screen quickly, which was very nice. Perhaps I just need to get acclimated with it more. |
No perfect fit in hands - Image quality not great either

I'm a die-hard fan of Sony and I got this as a second camera for small trips and family parties. I own an SLR already. This camera is very nice in looks and built solid. Image quality is not great and sometimes I wonder if it is a Sony. I used several sony point & shoot cameras and this doesn't produce near quality pictures as they do. It's easy to carry and pictures in day light are reasonably Ok. Low light conditions sucks. Overall, if you have other options, try to avoid this. If you are also a fan of Sony, you will get this any way :)

After having great experience with Sony W50 (7 mega pixel), I decided to buy a T series. Inspired by its looks and size. Ans considering the price difference and more pixels I was expecting better quality than my previous W50. But I must say I am disappointed with its picture quality. It cannot compare with the sharpness and rich color result of W50 even though it is supposed to have tons of features (as Sony claims) to improve picture quality.
The AI in fully automatic mode is not smart either. At times, none of the pictures of an entire event can be considered perfect, in fact most pictures are blurry or out of focus. It mostly happen when taking pictures indoor with not enough light.
If you are not a photo quality freak, and looks and size is priority then go for it. If you value quality photos, then go for bigger models like W series. |
Just Ok Camera - Non-Professional & New User Review

I purchased this camera a few weeks ago and have only used it on one occasion. The initial results were disappointing considering the price point for this camera.
Pros:
- The T77 is very stylish and compact.
- It is definitely an attention getter.
- The touch screen seems to work well.
- The camera seems to be well made.
- It has a 4x zoom as opposed to 3x on most other point & shoot cameras.
Cons:
- I have only taken 13 photos, inside and not under the best lighting conditions. Every person in all the photos had red-eye which I was able to remove using my photo editing\management software.
- The pictures did not look natural. My guess is the T77 needs good light. I have a Kodak 5.1 mp camera and the photos are much more natural looking under varying light conditions.
- The battery life is not all that great. The manual says to turn off the camera frequently as opposed to leaving it on. This is good advice. It definitely helps prolong the otherwise somewhat short battery life. I would definitely recommend getting a second battery.
Conclusion:
Please note that I have used the camera on one occassion. I am still learning to use the camera. Perhaps if I had more experience with the camera I can get better results. Overall my initial assessment is that this is probably not the best value for the money, but it certainly is okay. |

| This is our third Cybershot to own in the past 5 years. We have loved them in the past and were impressed with all the features. The zoom is horrible on this camera. Pictures come out grainy when using the zoom. Outside the pictures are great, but life happens in both. We returned it after one week and are still searching for a good camera in this price range. We own a Digital SLR (Pentax) and love taking pictures. My husband is into messing with all the settings. Our previous cybershot took better pictures at a fraction of the cost. No matter what setting we used, the pictures were dark and grainy inside with the zoom. We had to get right up on the subject to get a clear picture. We expected more the price and were dissapointed. Lesson learned: more expensive and higher resolution (and zoom) does not equal a better camera! |
Touchscreen A Pain

I previously had a Canon PowerShot (SD450), and I thought it was time to upgrade. However, I returned it after playing around with it and having no tolerance for the touchscreen interface.
Cons:
-- Touchscreen was difficult to use and annoying. It would not always register when I tried selecting something, so I would often have to touch the screen more than once. It requires going through so many clicks and menus to do simple tasks, which made my older Canon camera with normal buttons seem much faster in comparison. I also did not want to carry around the pen for the touchscreen, and using my fingers would leave fingerprints and be even less effective.
-- The lens does not seem properly protected from my fingers when holding the camera so that it is easy to put fingerprints on the lens, which I would assume could decrease the quality of photos.
-- The 3 inch LCD screen includes wasted space since it is widescreen and it doesn't make sense for everyone to shoot in widescreen. Therefore, the point of the touchscreen to free up more space for the LCD display is meaningless for most, as there are black bars on each side of the photo.
-- Need to purchase separate cable to view HD quality photos on tv.
-- Tiny zoom lever.
Pros:
-- Easy to understand manual
-- Small and thin. A true ultracompact.
-- Auto scene selection mode seems like a useful feature.
The cons listed above, combined with further research I found giving other compact cameras better marks, made me return this. I just bought a Panasonic FX150 after a lot of research, and I hope this one is better!

| This camera looks great and takes and can take good pictures in the right conditions. Unfortunately Sony has made a critical error in design and when using the flash many pictures have white circles in random locations on the image. At first we thought the camera was defective but we purchased five of them for business and after three of them had the same problem we called Sony. The tech support rep had me reset the camera etc. they finally told me that white spots are perfectly normal because "the flash sometimes reflects on dust". This of course seems funny because after owning many cameras I have never had one that reflects dust particles which ruins pictures. After doing some research I have found many other people have the same complaint. It seems like maybe the lens is too close to the flash and does have some time of reflection problem. I would strongly recommend for the same money to buy a Canon even though they are not as small or stylish. |

| Probably the worst camera Sony ever made. Design and interface are great, but the most importnt item, picture quality is horrendous. For what is supposed to be a 10MP camera you would think be a first generation lower than 1 MP camera. Avoid this and check out another brand like Canon. |

I am very surprised that at my first purchase, i have been cheated by the sending company which have put SOME KIND OF WRONG battery charger in the pack.
How dare can they remove the original Sony Battery Charger and insert an unidentified kind of useless charger ?
Who is responsible for that?
I have paid my money to Amazon, and i want a clrarification from Amazon...
I have been in all photo shops and camera retailers in Austin,TX and almost everybody told me that this is commonly made by the senders.
A Battery Charger costs arond 59-60 usd in Austin.
Please advise what to do, should i return the whole set ?
I could not make the camera work yet, and i am walking around all the shops to get a help every week end.

This camera rocks. It's small, it takes decent quality pictures. I got it because it was slim, I care about portability. When I bought it, it was broken already. The camera works but the battery door is broken and the battery pops out randomly. I went on Sony's website and told them on their online support, they said they'd replace/fix it. So I called them up, did the whole RMA thing, paid to send them the camera. Waited a week or so, it came back - not fixed. I called them up and told them they said they'd fix it -- I didn't break it, it was already like that. I even kept screenshots and logs of the chat with them and showed them it. They refused to service their product even after they said they would. $320 down the drain.
This would cost them at most $20 to fix, I even offered to pay to fix it and they refused! No, I didn't offer $20, I just asked how much they would charge to fix it and they said they won't fix it. Horrible company. They don't do their own support, they pay another company to do it, so there is no way to get them to do anything.
Good camera, crappy support. Don't buy it. I stopped buying Sony products. Some "name brand" this turned out to be, I've seen off brands that gave better support. Sony is clearly at fault and they do nothing. |

First I must say I am a big fan of SONY products. I buy everything SONY! That said I seem to have bad luck with sony cameras. I don't know if I some cameras are out there are simple defective, but this is the second camera that has similar problems. Picture quality is horrible. Pictures come out blurry, unfocused, orange glow faces if shot without flash in a bad lightining. Basically if it's not bright and sunny outside, forget about it! Pictures have too much noise and look grainy. I always compare my pictures to my old Nicon coolpix 3.1 mp, and so far my old camera produced much better pictures.
The only thing I am happy with is videos, they look pretty nice, but again, if it's indoors, forget about it!
Perhaps sony can contact me and look at my cameras for free? |
Good product, Poor Customer Service

| One month ago I bought Sony T77 from Amazon, it is a good product. When I ordered this camera from Amazon, I intended to pay US$100 by my gift card and US$112.94 by my credit card, but Amazon charged my credit card US$212.94 and also redeemed my gift card of US$100, so it means they total charge me US$312.94. I contacted their customer service many times, originally they said the mistake was created by their technical issue and they will refund US$100 to my credit card account, but one month passed and they still have not returned my US$100 to me. I sent several mails to their customer service department, and now they wanted me to contact my bank and ask my bank to contact them. I am a foreigner (Taiwan) and my bank is not in the states, how I can force my bank to make an international call to Amazon, and my bank also has language problem to communicate with Amazon. I really hate the way Amazon did and I won't consider to buy any products from Amazon again. I will also tell all my friends about what experience I met from Amazon, I want my US$100 back. Poor service company. I may need to lawyer for help to handle my issue. |

| I have had this sony camera for a year now and I was very dissapointed witht the quality. Picture mostly have an orange glow. Forget about the steady shot it sucks. If you are shaking one bit the picture is not clear. That also goes for the person in the shot if it is moving than you can forget it. If you want my advice buy a cannon. They have better reputation and quality. |
