Diabetic Diet: 5 More Ways To Lower Your Blood Sugar Level
Maintaining a normal sugar level in your body is the main goal for every diabetic. If they let their sugar level get too high by eating some cheat sweet foods over a long time without trying to get it back to a normal level, major health problems can and will appear with their eyes, heart, nerves, and kidneys. So once a diabetic finds himself/herself in this position of having too sugar in his/her blood, he/she needs to find some natural ways to bring it back down.
I revealed in my previous article how diabetics can lower their blood sugar level by utilizing 5 natural techniques. These techniques I mentioned are apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginseng, exercising and drinking water. Here are 5 more additional ways a diabetic can decrease the amount of sugar that is in your blood stream.
One is to watch what foods you do eat. Try to eat low-glycolic foods as they are digested by your body at a much slower rate thus keeping your blood sugar level stabilized. These foods include oatmeal, fruits, peas, peanuts, and granola. Hint: sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cinnamon into a bowl of oatmeal and you will have a tremendous meal that will make you full while keeping your blood sugar level even.
Decaffeinated coffee is another great source. If you drink a cup of decaffeinated coffee along with a simple sugar item which is absorbed by the body at a fast rate, the coffee will act as a barrier and keep your blood sugar level stable. It does this because of a certain chemical with the plant that that helps your intestines to absorb the sugar at a slower pace. Regular coffee does not have this same effect.
Relaxation is another great technique. Stress is a great blood sugar rising culprit because the stress releases a hormone that causes your blood sugar to spike. Great ways to alleviate the stress is to sit down, breathe deep, drink some relaxing tea, put on some soothing music and relax.
Another way to lower your blood sugar is to eat garlic and onions. It does give you bad breath, but the benefits it gives you are much better. There is a certain chemical that stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin, thus helping lower your blood sugar.
Laughing can also lower your blood sugar. Now, when researching this for my mother who is a diabetic that loves to cheat, I found this and actually laughed myself. But there has been a study in Japan that proves laughter can help decrease your sugar in your blood. They say the chemicals that are released when you laugh help your body compensate for the sugar in your body.
Diabetics have a hard time because they constantly have to watch what they eat and they also have to keep testing their blood to make sure their blood is at a normal level. If they let their blood sugar go for too long without trying to keep it at a normal level, then they will start developing major health problems. If you use these methods mentioned with your diabetic diet, you will be able to manage your blood sugar mush better.
