The flagship of Acura’s impressive line-up is available today at Acura of Tempe! The Acura RL with all of it luxury characteristics proves again and again why this sedan truly is the flagship of the Acura line up! It packs some of the most advanced technology as well as some of the most advanced safety features into a roomy and comfortable vehicle that really pleases the eyes!

Standing apart from other luxury sedans, the Acura RL actually falls under the midsize car classification. This classification makes it even more impressive that the Acura RL offers drivers and their passengers a ride that is both comfortable and roomy. The fact that the RL comes at a reasonable price to consumers is just one more bonus among many.

When designing the new RL, making it a powerhouse or an extravagant luxo-barge was not the goal Acura had in mind! Rather than equipping the RL with an optional V8 engine as many luxury sedans are, Acura opted to use only the lighter V6 which affords the RL more fuel-efficiency. And even with the V6 engine the RL still delivers 290 horse power!

As was mentioned the V6 engine allows the RL to be as fuel-efficient as possible and with this, it finds itself as one of the most fuel-efficient luxury sedans on the road delivering a very impressive 24 miles per gallon.

Acura’s RL wasn’t intended to come across as a “luxo-barge.” But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer some popular luxury features! The vehicle comes equipped with the latest technological accessories: Bluetooth, Bose sound, XM radio, dual zone climate control, noise cancellation, trip computer, and lots more.

The RL like every vehicle in Acura’s line finds itself bursting with advanced technology and features, but even with these features the RL remains user-friendly! Learn more about the RL’s features at Acura of Tempe online at www.AcuraDealerTempe.com.

In addition to the accessories/features that we all enjoy, the Acura RL offers the safety features that we all require. Great care was taken to incorporate all the most advanced safety features to guarantee the safety of Acura RL drivers and passengers. When purchasing the Acura RL, you purchase the peace of mind that is unique to knowing your vehicle meets/exceeds every safety requirement in the industry. A few of the safety features you’ll find on the RL are: electronic brake distribution, ABS, advanced compatibility engineering, vehicle stability assist, etcetera.

Additionally, the RL is the first Acura to feature Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). This innovative technology continuously varies power among all four wheels to enhance handling and aid in wet-weather traction. To learn more about the RL’s safety features, visit www.AcuraDealerTempe.com.

While the Acura RL has never attained huge popularity and seems to live in the shadow of more prestigious makes and well-known models, the RL does establish itself as a luxury sedan that holds up quite nicely when placed against those in it’s class. To learn more about the Acura RL or to get a great deal on the RL in the Phoenix, Arizona area visit Acura of Tempe online at www.AcuraDealerTempe.com.

A 1958 Chevy Impala is truly one of the all time greatest classic American cars. It started a line of cars that has captured the imaginations of millions of people around the world. In fact, I have yet to find a generation of car lovers that do not appreciate the beautiful design of this old car. It is not a person, but it does have what I call “automobile personality.” Once you see it, you never forget it.

See 1958 Chevy Impalas and other cars on auction.

The web makes it so much easier to find the 1958 Impala for sale that you have always been looking for. Ebay makes it possible. It is easy to use ebay for buying cars, just make sure to read more about it on their help section. I always like to find classic cars sold around the country on ebay because you can find so many different cars from hot rods to originals. I am a sucker however for the 58 Impala since I have owned four in my lifetime, and have traded up to the 58 show car I now flaunt at the local car shows in Alabama.

Many a teeneager from the early sixties, like myself, loved to take their sweety out for a spin in the 58 Impala. The drive-ins were great fun, where a guy and a gal could get some real privacy. I remember the first James Bond movie, Dr. No, and a special date I had with my future wife. The windows were a little steamy but we seemed to still catch some of the plot from that famous first movie of the Bond series.

Background of The 58 Impala

Chevy’s Impala was began in 1958. This full-sized vehicle built by General Motors for their Chevrolet division. From 1958 until 1965, the Impala was the most expensive full-size car offered by Chevrolet.

In 1973, one of the biggest hits on the screen was the famous movie, America Graffiti. Starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, and Wolfman Jack, the movie featured an awesome fifties classic car known as the 58 Chevy Impala. It proved a huge hit, with the huge demand for those cars by teens of the 70’s. The demand for this car is still very high, and many people consider this car one of the all time great cars behind maybe the Batmobile and the James Dean 49 Mercury.

1958 Chevy lovers have a special bond that transcends time. It is something that is hard to explain to anyone who has not experienced it before. The car has a way of grabbing your heart, and not letting go. I recommend that if you are one of the lovesick 58 Impala lovers like myself, and you don’t yet have one in your garage, get one. Surf the auctions online for one, because these ars are only going to get rarer. Get one while you can.

There are many ways to improve gas mileage and saving money on fuel. Most people often overlook combining errands such as shopping trips and trips into town. Think about all your errands and figure out some ways to do trip planning and taking the shortest routes possible with the least amount of stop starts this will help you save no only money and fuel but valuable time.

Consider online services that post gasoline prices in your area or the routes you travel. Let these services find the lowest gas prices for you instead of wasting time and money driving around town looking for the lowest prices. Incorporate your stop at the pump with your trip planning.

Instead of driving around town when shopping for products looking for the lowest price do your searching online. Consider having your purchases shipped to your door. Most major retailers or merchants offer their products online and offer a larger variety and sometimes a discount or free shipping. Not only will you save time and money driving to pick up the item but you are more likely to purchase something that matched your expectations.

Who ever thought air could save gas? Well if your tires are inflated properly you could see your fuel efficiency increase 3%. Tires that are not properly inflated also wear much quicker. Consider having your tires also rotated every 10,000 miles. Inflated tires will save money on fuel and tires give you a safer and more comfortable ride.

Check you owners manual to find out when your oil should be changed. Keeping your oil changed could be one of many ways to improve gas mileage by 1-2%. It is not unusual for a service technician to point out that you have a dirty air filter during an oil change and if your air filter is dirty and is replace you could improve gas mileage by 10%

Have your vehicle tuned up as recommended by your owners manual. If it is running rough or your gas mileage is not what it once was it may be time to have a tuneup. It is not unusual to even have an engine that is running fine to see an increase in gas mileage due to a tuneup. A perfect example is a faulty oxygen sensor that once replace could increase gas mileage as much as 40%.

It is always best to give some distance between you and the vehicle in front or you. Let your vehicle come to a natural stop by allowing wind resistance to your advantage. When accelerating avoid gunning it. Use your cruise control to increase gas mileage. These methods should are better for you engine, brakes and transmission and best for saving gas and money.

Are you trading in a gas hog for a more fuel efficient vehicle that will help you improve gas mileage? Consider comparing MPG’s or miles per gallon that is listed on most new cars sticker. Always find a vehicle that takes regular gas as instead of premium gas. Some high performance vehicles require premium gas and premium gas cost much more. If you run a car on regular that requires premium you will likely shorten the life of the engine and performance will suffer. Research pays when buying a vehicle.

Modern diesel engines are a feat of engineering, combining impressive power with fuel efficiency. Their environmental friendliness and fairly low maintenance have been the cause of their long-time popularity in Europe, and they are recently beginning to become more common in the U.S. Given the slew of benefits they carry, diesel engines may quite possibly become more popular than gas engines someday. If you’re like most U.S. drivers, you’re probably not very familiar with diesel engines. Here are some tips to get you introduced.

1) Nearly all new diesel engines come equipped with a turbo-charger. Think of a turbo-charger as a jet engine – it forces outside air into the engine and increases efficiency and performance. Turbo-chargers are very powerful, so great care must be taken to make sure the air entering the turbo-charger is clean and clear of debris. Therefore, it’s important that the air filter on your diesel is clean and changed often. Most manufacturers equip their vehicles with electronic sensors that will tell you to check or replace your air filter, and when this sensor tells you to change the air filter, do so immediately. If you ignore this warning, you could damage your engine.

2) Diesel fuel isn’t as clean and pure as gasoline, so the fuel filter in a diesel engine is very important. Again, your car has sensors that will warn you if the fuel filter becomes clogged, and you should react to these warnings quickly. If you fail to change a clogged diesel fuel filter, it could leave you stranded on the side of the road. Also, keep in mind that diesel fuel filters need to be changed a little more often than gas fuel filters, so don’t be surprised if you have to replace your diesel’s fuel filter ahead of schedule. That’s perfectly normal.

3) Here’s some shocking news for new diesel owners — in addition to being less pure than gasoline, diesel fuel also contains water. Even though small amounts of water will not hurt your diesel engine, nearly all modern diesels are equipped with water/fuel separators. Depending upon your vehicle, you may need to purge the water from your diesel’s fuel system manually. Check your owner’s manual for instructions on how to do this and to find out how often it should be done. The good news is that many service facilities will perform this task for you at little or no charge, and will also dispose of the water/fuel mixture in an environmentally friendly way.

4) Diesel engines are often referred to as “oil burners” because unlike gasoline engines, diesel engines typically burn some of the engine’s lubricating oil during normal operation. That’s why it’s especially important to check your diesel’s oil level between oil changes. To check the oil, make sure the engine has cooled for at least 30 minutes, and that the vehicle is level. Your owner’s manual will explain when you should add oil based on the engine’s dipstick reading.

5) Diesel engines and coldness don’t get along. Low temperatures will cause your diesel engine to start harshly and warm up slowly. Extremely low temperatures of -10F or lower may cause your diesel engine to not function at all. Always remember to use your diesel’s block heater whenever the temperature hits below zero. The block heater is a simple electrical plug on your car which keeps your engine warm, using your home’s electrical source. All you have to do is plug your car in at night. You can also plug it in whenever the temperatures drop below freezing, if you can afford the electricity. Using your block heater will protect your engine, and will ensure smooth start-ups and quick warm-ups. Your owner’s manual will help you locate the block heater on your vehicle.

6) All new engines have a break-in period, and new diesel engines are no different. The break-in for a new diesel is usually from 500 to 1000 miles. Check your manual to find out what the average period is for your vehicle. During this break-in period, manufacturers will recommend that you do not drive at sustained speeds, such as on long trips on the highway, and do not haul or tow anything. Your engine will continue to improve in power and efficiency for 20,000 to 30,000 miles after the initial break-in period is over, since diesel engines reach their peak performance levels after lots of time and use. Most long-time diesel engine owners say their diesel began to truly perform only after a year or two of use.

It is imperative that new or first-time diesel owners read their engine manual thoroughly. Diesel owners need to perform normal vehicle maintenance, as well as monitor air and fuel filter sensors, check engine oil between changes, remove water from fuel system when needed, and plug in the block heater when the temperatures drop below zero. This extra care will result in an engine with power, fuel economy, and 200,000+ miles of service.

Pickup trucks are typically very practical vehicles, especially for hauling cargo. However, some drivers often need to carry bulkier gear like furniture, motorcycles, or pallets of wood, which don’t fit snugly within the walls of the truck’s box. These items could possibly be damaged by too much side-to-side movements. Newer pickups are often fitted with cut-outs and tie-downs which ropes and chains can attach to, but these are usually at very fixed locations, and aren’t always easy or convenient to access.

Putco offers a stylish and useful solution to this problem. They have designed a line of side rails which stretch the length of your truck bed. Easy to install, these rails are made out of chromed stainless steel and are easy to install. Not only are they strong, but they look good too!

Designed to anchor into your truck`s current tie-down cutouts, the rails can be easily installed with simple hand tools. The three main pieces – two curved anchors and a long steel bar – are joined together, the anchors are placed atop the cutouts, and the mounting bar is then tightened from the top with the use of an Allan key. There are no visible clamps, and scuffing or scratching is prevented by a rubber gasket which goes between the rail and your paint.

Your basic Putco locker side rails can hold up to 1000 pounds, more than adequate for most hauling jobs, and have a steel tube with a cutout at each anchor end to accommodate more involved tying. For those wanting a heftier look, these can be upgraded to 2.5 inch with an identical design, but these “Boss” railings, as they are called by Putco, can only hold 500 pounds.

If you have a need for more tie-downs, but don’t want to clutter up your truck’s bed rails, the Putco Pop Up Lockers might be worth a look. They have 4 hidden tie-downs, which are rated at 500 pounds, along that railing that can be ‘popped’ to use when you need them. Otherwise, the railing maintains a solid appearance, lacking even the openings found at the anchor points on the standard version.

If you don’t really need a tie-down but like the look of them anyways, the Putco SSR Locker is a great accessory for you. It adds a lot of shine because of its chrome construction, but won’t overwhelm your truck like wheel well flares will, which compete with truck’s wheels for visual attention because they’re so close together. Adding chrome where none was will give a better effect.

Bed side rails are also useful for people who frequently find themselves climbing in and out of the bed of their truck, especially in wet conditions where bed liners or bare steel can be especially slippery. The rails make for excellent hand grips, and can also be good for providing you with leverage when reaching over the side of the truck bed for items down on the cargo floor. The only real downside to installing railings like these is that it makes it impossible to use a tonneau cover – although if you are regularly hauling large gear, that probably wasn’t an option anyway. Putco side rails are a great way to dress up your truck. They’re fairly inexpensive, at about $200, and they add a practical edge at the same time.

Buying a car is monumental! When you think about it it’s the largest thing most people buy besides their home if they’re a home owner. So making sure that you are treated fairly is much more important than most people realize. The car industry is pretty fundamentally confusing (some might say it’s on purpose!) But at San Tan Honda Superstore of Chandler we like to keep things simple. Yes, we sell cars. But we don’t sell cars at all costs or in direct opposition to the buyer’s needs. We sell cars and we satisfy our customers; both aspects of the business are equally important to us here at San Tan!

But not every dealership feels the same. When you decide to purchase a new car, the first step is to get yourself to a good dealership. The question is how does the typical consumer tell the difference?

Here’s the top five things we at San Tan Honda Superstore of Chandler believe consumers should insist upon:

1.Look for polite sales associates. You shouldn’t have to worry that two car salesmen are going to break out in a fist fight because they can’t decide who gets you. Look for a dealership that allows you to have a little bit of space to browse rather than a dealership whose salesmen tend to hang out on the curb, open your car door before you’ve put it in park and refuse to let you out of their sight even at your request!

2. Make sure you are able to access Internet specials through your chosen dealership. You want the best deal and the easiest way to get the best deal is to relax and do your research online.

3. We all have to put up with bossy friends, bossy parents and even bossy siblings, but you shouldn’t have to put up with bossy salesmen. Some salesmen depend upon the establishment of a pattern to make the sale. They might start by getting bossy with you on irrelevant matters saying, “Wait here” or “Follow me.” Be aware that they may be leading up to a “bossy” finale where they tell you what car to buy at what price. Choose a dealership who has trained their sales people to avoid such pushy maneuvers.

4. Look for a dealership whose salesmen are very knowledgeable, but not ridiculously opinionated. This is your new car; not the salesman’s. So it doesn’t really matter how many times he’s been tempted to buy the loaded, high end model in the showroom. If you feel like looking at it; go ahead. But don’t feel obligated to accommodate the suggestions of a salesman who continuously suggests vehicles that are not what you came in to buy.

5. And what about honesty? If a dealership is honest you’ll never look back on your “monumental” car purchase with bitterness. Choosing an honest dealership means you will have a clear knowledge of your interest rate and payment information. Choosing an honest dealership means you will actually have the opportunity to take advantage of advertised specials. (If you are immediately told that the “advertised special” is already sold or is temporarily out of stock. Say thank you and walk away to find a dealership that actually honors their own advertising!)

If you make sure your dealer of choice meets the above 5 requirements you’ll have a lot less to worry about. Remember that just because buying a vehicle is ultra convenient and seemingly easy doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be weighty decision. Start your next car ownership experience off by being happy with your purchase transaction. Being happy with your vehicle is one thing, but the best thing is being happy with your entire car buying experience from arriving on the lot to driving your new car for years to come!

Vehicles of virtually every type and make have been steadily growing over the past ten years. “Entry level” cars by companies like BMW are almost the same size nowadays as a mid-size car from a decade ago. One of the consequences of vehicle sizes expanding is that parking now is harder than ever.

Nowhere is this gigantism more visible than in the pickup truck segment, where even previously ’small’ trucks like the Dodge Dakota have inflated until they now dwarf their predecessors. In turn, full-size trucks have fought their own battle of the bulge, getting heavier, wider and taller. Toyota has not been immune to these market forces. The first generation Toyota Tundra was a mid-size pickup marketed to the full-size crowd, and when Toyota realized that they could cram more buyers into a larger vehicle, the 2007 Tundra re-design greatly increased the capacity of the truck in almost every dimension.

The downside of bigger vehicles is that parking is now a lot harder than it was before. When driving a new Toyota Tundra, you may notice it’s difficult to tell where the truck begins and ends. As a solution to these new parking woes, vehicle designers have developed a new tool for drivers called “parking assist.”

On most vehicles, “parking assist” is a system of sensors in the front and/or rear bumper that create an audible “beep” when your vehicle gets close to an obstacle. Depending on the system, the beeps will begin when you’re about 6 feet away, and then increase in frequency until you get about 6 inches away, when the beeps will become a continuous tone. This is a great feature – it can really help with parallel parking, as well as warning you if something small (i.e. a fence post, a mailbox, or even a small child) is near your vehicle. But how does it work?

Basically, a set of eyes are mounted in the vehicle’s bumpers. These “eyes”, or special sensors, transmit highly focused sound waves at regular intervals from the bumper. When these sound waves come into contact with a solid object, they reflect back towards the sensor. Since the speed of sound is fairly constant through air, a computer uses the time it took for the reflection to be returned in order to calculate the distance between the bumper and the object. This is exactly the same principle employed by submarines using active sonar underwater, except that water transmits the sound waves much better than air, allowing for better range.

Although the sensors can effectively detect stationary objects such as parked vehicles and garage doors, they’re not sensitive enough for smaller mobile objects, such as animals or children. These objects might not generate a warning beep, or at least not consistently. Therefore, drivers still need to use caution and be aware of their vehicle’s surroundings when parking. Parking assist, also called parking sonar, is definitely a useful tool, but is not a replacement for a careful driver.

High-end luxury cars have started to move on to the next generation of parking assist systems, which use a video camera and complex computer program alongside the sound sensor system. The result is more accurate input to the vehicle, which instead of merely warning drivers close to an object, will actually steer and park the vehicle for them. This is very useful with parallel parking – you just have to let the car control the steering, gas and brake. What interesting and amazing technology we have these days!

In choosing from the wide variety of used engine sellers out there, you?ll want to use a little judgment, especially on the process vendors and distributors use to ?certify? or provide engines that meet your goals for power and performance.

Those who work on engines know that it?s not just a matter of ?either it works or it doesn?t?; mechanics take great pride in outfitting, installing and calibrating engines for peak performance.

The same principles apply to buying a used, refurbished or remanufactured engine from a third party. If you?re looking for a solution for getting pep into your stalled-out vehicle, you want to know that the shop you?re buying from uses rigorous methods to make sure the blocks shipped are reliable and ready to go.

Re-manufacturing to company specs

For a lot of engine vendors, certification of the manufacturer?s standard is important, so the shop employs credible technicians to inspect and test the used engine so that it meets all of the criteria for a new one rolling off the line.

You can rely on certifications advertised by the seller to know that your used engine buy has been worked back to specifications.

QA Testing for a Used Engine

There are a variety of testing processes shops use to verify a used engine is in great shape. Even if the shop is not certified to one manufacturer?s ?seal of approval?, that seller can verify they ship great product by telling buyers about how they work on a used engine.

Dyno Testing

Testing with a dynamometer or ?dyno testing? is how shops measure an engine?s torque, and therefore its horsepower.

A good dyno test will involve running an engine under different conditions and different loads to note how it performs, so that the performance data is on hand either to re-work it or to prove its power first-hand.

Compression Testing

Another very common way shops test engines is by simple compression tests, where tools are inserted into the engine to see what kind of pressure the various chambers can sustain.

Compression testing is performed for results on cylinders individually: low compression in a cylinder can mean a bad exhaust valve. When compression is low on all cylinders, it?s a more general problem.

Compression testing basically confirms that there are no worn parts like valves or rings compromising the needed pressure for the engine?s performance. Shops use ?compression ratios? to compare compression at the top and bottom of a piston cycle.

Ordering

When you know you have a good shop that performs these kinds of tests, you can pick out an engine from the inventory. Be sure to call in with necessary information on your vehicle like the VIN number, etc., to make sure you get the right engine shipped to you, as there can be confusion between different engines of the same make and model.

Make a used engine the perfect fit for your grounded car and get running again when you find an affordable contract with a legitimate and credible used engine dealer.
