The first step is to get the stamps. So, how do you get the stamps? Well, simple. You can purchase a large packet of stamps. You can get these stamps at bookstores or if you prefer, you can get it from a ship where they sell all the collector’s stamps. However, it may be costly. If you do not intend to splurge money on your new found hobby, you may remove stamps from packages. This will give you a head start in your stamp collection.

First, let me start you off by telling you about the tools you need. You need a place to store the stamp; therefore, I suggest you get an album or an archival stock book. This is important as it keeps you stamps in a very good condition. Make sure that the albums have hinges as you do not want to place your stamps in a fixed position. You may want and need to classify them in future. By gluing them to the album, you may not only spoil the stamps you may not be able to move them in future.

However, there is one other thing you should note too when getting an album. You have to ensure that the album has hinges. The hinges will help you fix the stamps to the album. It is not advisable for you to paste you stamps with glue. Why? It is because, by gluing you stamps to the album, it makes the stamps have permanent positions and thus, you will not be able to classify your stamps in future.

Apart from the tools, you also need to get the stamps. Where? You may get a large packet of stamp from the bookstores, Alternatively, you may also remove used stamps from postages. This will allow you to safe money but it may also be time consuming. You have to be careful when removing the stamps as they may tear when you try removing them.

Natural disasters and accidents are inevitable. What happens if there is a flood? Yes. all you albums and years of collecting stamp are gone to waste. I suggest that you get a few or maybe a bundle of polythene packet. You can keep your album in this packets so that it would not get wet. It will be terrible to see your stamp collection for past years gone to waste.

Believe me, once you start collecting stamps and learn how to grade and appreciate them, you will fall in love wih your new hobby. If you doubt me, why not take a chance and take up stamp collecting. Maybe stamp collecting is the hobby you need to spend your free time wisely.
