When it comes time to host a baby shower, selecting baby shower games is one of the most fun and enjoyable elements of the planning. Naturally, you want your party to be a success, but where should you start? You have to gather some good baby shower game ideas. In a special group of family and friends, some of them are bound to meet for the first time, so baby shower games serve as the ice breaker to help everyone get to know each other better.

In the course of choosing the baby shower game ideas, the key to great baby shower games is to be short and fun. The themes should sometimes be babies. For a typical baby shower in which no full meals are served, expect to be able to play two or three games. Games can also be used to focus attention on the guests of honor, enliven the atmosphere and stimulate conversation. With a little bit of planning, personalized and interactive games or activities can make a baby shower a memorable and meaningful event for everyone.

Adding Some Excitement

Kids love these kinds of games and they get to go home with a reward. Games like the baby shower musical race will have your guests frustrated and happy. They drink juices from baby bottles once the music starts. It is a great game to consider for your guests. The potato game is a challenging game to try. Have some potatoes in a jar and then put it at a corner, then have your guests try to fill the jar with potatoes using their knees.

Baby shower games don’t have to be complicated or expensive. Most game items can be found around your home, or purchased for a few dollars. The prizes can be store bought items like candles, knick-knacks, oven mitts, and even dishtowels, or they can be homemade baked goods or craft items.

To prepare for this baby shower game, fold regular pieces of paper in half, one per guest. Have each guest write one baby question on one side of the paper. Good examples are: “How do you test to see if formula is too hot?”, or “What do you do if baby has a fever?”, etc. After everyone is done writing ONLY his or her question, have everyone fold the paper so that the question is hidden. Have guests get into a circle. Now folks must pass their folded papers to the right.

Another Idea…

Before the game starts, place the small baby items on a tray. You can use items such as a bottle, pacifier, baby sock, safety pin, baby’s brush, baby oil, etc. To start the game, bring the tray into the room and place it where everyone can see it. Leave it out for one minute, and tell the guests to memorize the items that are on the tray. Then remove the tray from the room and give the guests five minutes to write down all of the items they remember. The guest with the most correct answers wins.
