Many people ask me,” where can I find free antivirus software.” The easiest and fastest way to find free malware removal software is to simply do a search on Google. Type in something like, “free antivirus software,” and click on the links.
A lot of companies offer both paid and free versions of their security software. Most of these software suites are good but some can be a real drain on your system resources and some should be completely avoided.
AVG is one of the most reputable and better known internet security providers online. In my humble opinion they offer one of the best security suites out there, and it’s completely free. Version 8 provides a multi faceted approach to online security with your web browser even alerting you to dodgy websites!
The AVG link scanner will actually alert you to sites that it considers a threat to your online security. It does this by showing different icons that tell you whether its safe for you to proceed or not. These icons are shown in your browser when searching for specific items or keywords.
The problem of, “rogue software,”seems to be on the increase. This type of software once installed on your PC or laptop can install spyware, viruses and all sorts of nuisance malware.
The benefit of the link scanner incorporated into AVGs free anti-virus software is that it should warn you of nuisance sites that make this kind of software freely available. Forewarned is forearmed seems to apply here.
AVG was not the first company to make this kind of technology available. I first came came across it when McAfee security made it popular. By now you have probably worked out that I’m a fan of AVG. Although they are my personal preference, there are others out there to choose from.
At this time I haven’t had the time to test as vigorously, other software programs offered by companies like Avast and Avira. Although I can’t attest to it personally, they do seem to have built up a good reputation in the internet security software arena.
Back full circle to, “where can I find free antivirus software.” I hope that I have given you enough relevant information for you to spend a little time researching so you can make your own informed decision. Alternatively you may decide just to take my word for it and make the AVG free download page your first port of call.

- Where to Start When Planning Retirement
Most people think that you need intricate, costly retirement planning kits to get the most out of your planning. Not so! Many good retirement planning tools can be had for free. They may not have tons of extras, but sometimes simple can be perfect, too.
Start with Budgeting
This tool may not seem all that inspired, but it can make a huge difference in your retirement planning: a budget. Start with a blank piece of paper, or a blank spreadsheet, if you want to use your computer. Go through your checkbook, credit card statement, and bank statement and write down all of your monthly expenses, including your utilities, credit cards, eating out, groceries, and snacks.
Write down every single thing that you spent money on, even if it was just for fun. Now, at the bottom of the page, subtract the amount from your total take-home income. Anything that is left over is potential for retirement funds.
If you don’t have anything left over, then it may be time to rethink your budget. Cut back on the little things so that you can plan for the big thing, retirement.
The Personnel Office
Many folks don’t realize that the best retirement planning tools can be found at their job; it is called the personnel office. Personnel can help you find and sign up for every perk, investment, and savings benefit your employer has to offer. Some businesses even work with banks and local investment firms to get retirement information to their employees. Stock up on the brochures and reading material that the office has as well. It’s like getting top-of-the-line retirement advice for free!
Use the Internet
You can get tons of nifty retirement planning products on the internet. A lot of it is what’s called Shareware, which are programs that are created by programmers in their spare time to offer to the public free of charge. The Vanguard Retirement Calculator helps you see if you are investing enough and helps you average your investment returns. AARP has a Retirement Roadmap Tool that helps determine how much your retirement dreams will cost in the real world. Principal Financial Group offers many different kinds of planning and investment calculators for planning for retirement. CNN Money.com offers an intensive calculator that covers investments, goals, income, savings, and portfolios.
there is no need to spend big bucks on retirement planning tools. Free ones are right at your fingertips.
