The Real Use of Jade in Feng Shui

To unleash boundless energy in your life alongwith good luck, health and prosperity, you must consult the ancient science of feng shui. Feng shui is a powerful art to bring vitality and energy in ones life.

How much of these assumptions could be true? Could de-cluttering your business, rearranging your home bring luck and prosperity? Feng shui is so over hyped, if one could describe it that way, it makes you wonder if these claims hold true or the feng shui item you recently purchased for your home real or fake.

Lets discuss Jade as an example. It is commonly used in Asian homes, so does it have those powers? How can feng shui and Jade change your life? Lets review how and why Feng shui and Jade came to be associated. And does it really work?

Jade and Feng Shui in Ancient Asia

In Asian cultures, especially Chinese, jade is a popular metal element. In ancient times, jade was available in abundance and due to its malleability, it could be shaped into various forms. This was quite unlike other stones like diamonds that required skilled labor to tirelessly cut and polish them.

The inclusion of Jade in feng shui was much later. True Feng Shui history does not teach the use of the element or claim anything magical about it. Yet it has been valuable element in ancient China.

According to Chinese history, jade has been as valuable as gold and diamonds for the west. The art and culture describe jade as an important metal. It came to be used variedly from fine objects and cult figures to grave furnishings for members of the imperial family.

How Jade and Feng Shui Came to the West

As Feng shui became popular in the western cultures, it cam to be highly misquoted. Scores of self proclaimed feng shui experts found good money by adulterating the teachings. The healing power of Jade and feng shui got them easy money from unsuspecting people. Jade was an important element in the Chinese culture, and feng shui was originated from china as well. For these unscrupulous feng shui experts, it was easy to make these two seem intertwined in history.

Historically feng shui does not preach anything about any such healing powers of jade. It’s not considered lucky as it was being portrayed in the west. You could use jade in feng shui simply as another metal element added to a room or as apiece of artwork for aesthetic purpose. Jade would then work but separately it holds no such magical or special significance.
