Parents look forward to the day when they save enough money to go to Disney World in Orlando Florida. Watching the excitement of their children’s faces is a once in a lifetime feeling of enjoyment and satisfaction for parents. It is also extremely exciting for kids as they have waited what seems like forever for some to be able to go to Disney World.

Florida is the capital for all theme parks, it was 40 years ago that Walt Disney opened his first park, this being the first of many more to come. Universal studios, which is a working studio, also has another park called Islands of Adventure. This offers a number of big thrill rides.

There are many activities for children and adults alike at Disney world and when choosing to holiday there, take that into consideration as the area is equivalent to the city of Manchester in the UK. Depending where you are flying from, a two to three week holiday is probably advisable.

The Magic Kingdom is probably known by everyone and to most people, this is Disney world itself. This is the home of Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey Mouse and we cannot miss Cinderella’s Castle every little girls dream. There are a number of smaller kingdoms, each offering a number of rides and shows. Do not miss out on the Light Parade, which starts around 9pm and make sure to get a good vantage point.

Epcot Center opened in 1982. Epcot comes from the acronym EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow). It’s the center for innovation and international culture. It is the second most visited site at Disney World, after the Magic Kingdom. Go ther to see what the future looks like and try out cuisine from around the globe. Enjoy the whole day there, but don’t leave before the fireworks spectacular.

If you or your family like animals from around the world, Animal Kingdom is a must see. This is becoming a busy attraction so get the kids up early to see as much as possible. It is also a huge park covering 500 acres.

Disney has two themed water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach is dominated by Mount Gushmore, a man-made mountain where water rushes down the sides of the mountain. Typhoon Lagoon has the world’s largest outdoor man-made wave pool. It also has a 50 foot geyser that erupts every half hour. Both parks are fun for the family and a great way to spend a hot Florida day.

One attraction that is a must for all the family is to visit Sea World Orlando to experience Shamu, the giant killer whale jumping high into the air. This is a truly amazing show. It is also possible for the children to not only see dolphins, they are allowed to touch them under supervision from the highly trained staff. To watch their faces and screams of delight when watching the dolphin and whale show is a delight not to be missed.

There are numerous hotels, villas, and apartments to rent around Orlando. As with any holiday, it all depends on the budget. The Magic Castle and Suites is a great choice as far as value for money goes. It has a large children’s playground and pool, a complimentary breakfast and park shuttle. Rooms cost between 30 and 50 dollars, and sleep up to five people. It is wise, as when booking any holiday, to do some searching around to try to find the best deal, especially when there are children, as holiday budget is the key word.
