It’s really boring to go the same vacation spot every year. It gets old quickly and some people just need a change from their usual routines. When you feel that change you often find yourself wondering what to do with that timeshare you’ve had for so long. When you need that well-needed break, you can do the following:

First you can probably sell or rent your timeshare to somebody else. That would necessarily mean losing your chance at that site for that year. But looking at the bright side of things it can fetch you some cash and allow you to do other things that you haven’t tried yet.

However, if you do not want to let go of your timeshare, one thing you can do is exchange it with someone else temporarily. By swapping timeshares for a particular period of time, you can enjoy the vacation property of somebody else, while that person will be able to enjoy yours, too. This is great because the change of scenery will probably let you enjoy your vacation more (as compared to spending another vacation at the same resort or villa again).

If you know someone who has a share in a particular vacation spot then consider swapping with him or her. The only trouble arises if you know no such person or know someone with a timeshare for a destination that you don’t want to go to. In this situation, here’s what you can do:

If you go online and check out sites where people with timeshares get together, you’ll most likely find sites where people with timeshares get to interact with one another. You can learn a lot from here. Joining an association of timeshare holders may be the key to that new vacation you’ve been dying to have.
