Weddings: Wedding Favors
April 28, 2008 – 8:40 amPlanning a wedding can be fun, stressful, but fun at the same time and one of the more interesting aspects is organizing the wedding favors. As a rule of thumb when organizing events, keep things simple as they have a habit of becoming complicated without any human intervention. With this in mind, it should be one less item you have to worry about for your big day because your favors might just be a phone call away.
One option for an easy wedding favor, especially popular with the ladies is flowers. The preparation for flowers is almost non existent other than deciding on what flowers to use which can be ordered reasonably close to the big day.
You might consider giving your guests a single red rose as a favor and this is extremely appropriate because a rose is a symbol of love plus roses do not need to be wrapped. It is a simple matter of asking one of your family to place the roses just before everyone is seated at the wedding reception table.
About 75 percent of people will use candy as it is an easy wedding favor that always pleases which can be simply presented in a box. I like the idea that a number of receptions have started to use where the costly centerpiece is done away with completely. This can be accomplished by using large bowls filled with different types of candy as the centerpieces on each table.
All you need to do after this is arrange for each wedding guest to have a small box where they can place their candy. This really is easy because each guest can choose whatever candy they like and there isn’t a single piece of wrapping in sight.
To give your guests something they can keep why not leave a small picture frame on the table. Whilst this is a great idea for a wedding favor gift it is only easy to do if you can present it without having to wrap it. By using the picture frames as placeholders provides a way around this, making it a gift that does not need to be wrapped.
Another easy wedding favor option to end this article is to arrange for a professional photographer to attend the wedding reception and take a photo of every couple as they arrive looking their best. The photos can be printed out whilst the reception goes on and the guests will have a pleasant surprise at the end of the evening when they leave as their photo will be waiting for them. As most wedding photographs are in groups, a photograph with just one couple at a time showing them at their best would be a welcomed wedding favor. As a little extra you could ask the photographer if he could bring along a small projector and have a slide show during the reception when guest can see the photos he has taken.
