Why You Should Go With Digital Wedding Photographs

The vast majority of couples arrange for a professional digital wedding photographer to capture this most important day. Some people will prefer to have the photos made into a CD or DVD rather than an album of still images.
Fortunately for wedding photographers they can use an assistant to help them get the right shots but if you’re a friend taking pictures, then how do you get the good shots of the day? Well if you need some help for a wedding you are to attend and you are going to use a digital camera, then you may find some useful information in this article.
Most importantly try to ensure you don’t have poor background scenery and that there aren’t too many people in the shot. Often the couple is in the thick of a crowd and at this point it may be easier to try and capture just their head and shoulders.
If there is bright sunlight or you are using flash, ask guests who are wearing glasses to remove them just for the shot or as an alternative they could turn their head slightly to the side. If there is someone in the group that you particularly want to take a photograph of but they are in a crowd then try using the zoom, it will give you a good close-up that you wouldn’t achieve any other way.
Where possible, try to capture shots that look to be of an unstaged nature as these tend to look very natural when viewed later; one way to do this is to use the cameras optical zoom and catch them unawares. Allways be ready for the next digital wedding photograph because you can’t ask people to repeat those unforgettable moments that everybody wants to see again and again.
Probably the most important thing to remember with digital cameras is to have plenty of memory in your camera plus fresh batteries and the best way to ensure this is to always carry spares. For 6 mega pixel cameras and up, the absolute bare minimum should be a 1 gigabyte card, preferably 2 gigabytes and always use the highest resolution your camera can manage if the images are to be printed.
Always remember that the higher the resolution used, the larger the size of prints that can be made so always keep a secure copy of your work so you can re-use them in the future. Once you have the images it is only a matter of printing out the ones you want and saving all of them on a CD for a permanent storage or presentation.
