Recognizing the symptoms in your partner as being an alcoholic are not always quite so clear. In fact discovering your partner’s drinking habits is nearly as stressful for you as it is for him coming to terms with alcoholism.

So anyway, the first signs to look out for are to found in a regular drinking pattern. You should be asking yourself things like, is drinking a daily habit or is it just a weekend thing? Do they grab out for a drink after an earful from the kids? or Do they blame regular drinking spouts on stress related incidents?

Just to highlight on some common ground amongst alcoholics, an occasional social drink has nothing in common with drinking due to stress. Many recovering alcoholics state that they always tended to blame someone else for all of their problems; their boss was difficult, their spouse nagged all the time, money was scarce.
